CHEN XIN is an Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics and Data Science, Southern University of Science and Technology. He got his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Nankai University in 1999, a Master's degree in Statistics from the National University of Singapore in 2003, and was awarded a PhD degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in 2010. He held his first faculty position as an Assistant Professor at Syracuse University, United States and then moved to National University of Singapore. In 2019, he moved to Southern University of Science and Technology as a tenured Associate Professor. His primary research interests include dimension reduction, variable selection, high-dimensional data, complex data analysis and the study of climate change. He has published several articles in top statistical journals including Annals of Statistics and Biometrika. Currently, he serves as an Associate Editor for the journal Statistics & Computing.
